CEO & Co-Founder
Amber has been combatting veteran suicides since she founded her organization in 2019 alongside her husband, Marcus Capone.
Some background on VETS:
- Amber’s husband, Marcus Capone faced challenges after serving 13 years as a Navy Seal from undiagnosed traumatic brain injury (TBI).
- They explored countless mental therapies available in the US, only to find them unsuccessful.
- Dogged in her determination to save her husband, Amber found a clinic where he would undergo treatment with ibogaine, a psychedelic compound derived from the iboga root.
- Simply put, it transformed his life and saved their family, leading to the founding of VETS
To date, VETS has raised over $13M and helped nearly 1,000 members of the US Special Forces veterans and their spouses with Healing Grants which provides funding, coaching, and additional resources for veterans and their spouses seeking treatment with psychedelic-assisted therapies.
