I hope this message finds you well! We are Lisa and Alexandra Ponte, a mother-daughter duo with a heartfelt mission to support the mental health and well-being of teens, children, and adults through the power of affirmation cards. We would love to share our story and the impact we are making in our community and beyond.

During the pandemic, I noticed the growing mental health crisis, particularly among teens and young adults. Depression rates were rising, and access to mental health resources was limited. As someone who has struggled with mental health, I knew firsthand how powerful daily affirmations could be. For over eight years, I’ve pulled affirmation cards every morning, and the practice has transformed my mindset, helping me to become a happier, more positive person. Inspired by this, I decided to create a deck specifically for teens and adults—a tool to help others foster self-love, resilience, and inner peace. Little did I know, this simple daily practice would touch thousands of lives.

I experienced my own struggles with mental health, including overcoming a toxic relationship, depression, anxiety, and a suicide attempt in high school which have deeply informed my work. I recently shared my journey in SheBreathes Soul Stories, a book inspired by Jennifer Gulbrand, where I speak openly about the challenges I faced. My hope is that by sharing my story, I can inspire others to know they are not alone and it's okay not to be okay.

In 2022, Alex and I expanded our mission by creating a children's version of our affirmation cards, designed for ages 5-12. With vibrant, joyful designs and empowering messages, these cards promote self-esteem, resilience, and mental well-being among kids. Our goal is to foster emotional intelligence and support kids in building a strong, positive mindset from a young age.

This year, we’ve launched a new mission to fill 10,000 backpacks with our affirmation cards for children and teens in Massachusetts. We’re partnering with School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA), a nonprofit that provides school supplies, backpacks, and mentorship to children affected by homelessness. Through our initiative, we’re offering a discount on our cards to help make this dream a reality, aiming to support as many young people as possible during a time when mental health support is more crucial than ever.

We believe that small acts of kindness—like an uplifting affirmation—can make a big difference, and we’d love the opportunity to share our mission and story.
