Author / Chef / Illustrator
Between her career as a therapeutic personal chef and maintaining the title of baby Ramsey’s FUN mamma, Mary Beth Romeo sneaks off in the wee hours of morning where she method acts the amnesiac gods of her queer fantasy manuscript, or doodles the many complexities of a certain dog and his cowboy. Writing has always been “the one that got away” for MB, and she is finally reconnecting with that first true love with the competition of her manuscript (fingers crossed) and the publication of We Should Be So Lucky: an illustrated book for adults. But life hasn’t been a total bust for interesting flings until now. MB has a charming wife and baby, a masters degree in Urban Affairs, a small lifetime of community organizing, and past side hustles in illustration, ethically-questionable academic paper writing, and creative portrait photography. As the middle of seven children and the daughter of her own quirky mother (god rest), MB gets much of her inspiration from the love, chaos and dark humor of her upbringing.
