Payal Thomas is a South Asian mom of two, who has always had a passion for entrepreneurship. She has been working as an IT project manager for several years, but her dream was to start her own business. In 2020, Payal went on a search for a doll for her daughter but couldn't find one that she felt truly represented her daughter's heritage and identity. This sparked the idea of creating a line of dolls that would represent girls of all backgrounds, and thus Every Girl Dolls was born.

Payal Thomas partnered with Snehali Patel, whom she met online, to launch Every Girl Dolls. Snehali had a similar passion for creating dolls that represent diversity and inclusivity. Together, they created their first doll, Laila, which launched in February 2022. Laila is a beautiful doll with South Asian features.
